Isel Bridge House exterior
The House

Four bedrooms, two acres,
four hundred years.

A history

Built 1611. Restored quietly.

Once the vicarage to St Michael's church across the bridge, the main house has been carefully restored — preserving its sash windows, deep stone walls and original fireplaces while adding a thoroughly modern kitchen and bathrooms.

You stay in the Main House, which sleeps seven comfortably (eight at a push) across four large bedrooms. The drawing room has a Smart TV with Netflix; the snug has a working log fire laid and ready.

Outside

A garden that meets the river.

Two comfortable seating areas in the rear garden, and a sweep of lawn at the front that runs all the way down to the River Derwent. Room for energetic outdoor games, little hideaways to sit and read, and the gentle sound of moving water.

Note: the river is unfenced and runs fast after rain. Please supervise children and dogs.
